Capital Cost

$5,000,000,000.00

Mine Operation

The project is to employ conventional open-pit mining with conventional primary crushing, grinding and flotation at an estimated average processing rate of 152,000 t/d according to the Envirronental Impact Assesment (EIA) submitted in MArch, 2021. Facilities on site related to the process include crushing, grinding, flotation, concentrate and tailings thickening, concentrate filtration, storage and loadout.

Processing

Run-of-mine material will be delivered from the open pit to two gyratory crushers with crushed ore transported via an overland conveyor to a coarse ore stockpile. Material will be reclaimed from the coarse ore stockpile and conveyed to three SAG mill and ball mill circuits. Conventional copper rougher flotation, followed by concentrate re-grinding and copper cleaner flotation, will result in the production of a copper concentrate and precious metals. Upon the 2021 EIA, the copper concentrate is to be transported by truck to San Juan, where it will be loaded onto rail and taken to the port at Rosario for export to international customers.

Average Annual Production
  • Average annual production of 131,000 tonnes of copper, 0.224
  • Moz gold and 1.048
  • Moz silver during the life of mine.
Remaining Life

19 Years

Resources & Reserves
  • Measured and Indicated Resources: 6,7 Billion pounds of copper,
  • 7 Moz of gold
  • 31 Moz of silver

Additional Comments

Under sectorial permits process. Final product would be shipped by Rosario port (Santa Fe province) to refineries located in foreign countries. Open pit operation feeding a conventional process plant at an average 152,000 tonnes per day. It needs the construction of a high voltage power line as well as an access road within San Juan province. The estimated capital expenditures in 2024 ($225 million) will continue to support advanciement of the Project prior to a construction decision. An updated capital cost estimate and project schedule is pending completion that will incorporate results from project de-risking initiatives and optimization studies. Capital expenditures primarily include continuation of hydrology work, delivery of long-lead mills and motors. Field activities will include road upgrades and geotechnical work as well as permitting initiatives, mainly for the powerline, access road and community relations programs. The exploration priority will be to test the Cumbre Verde target.
