The Faculty of Engineering is structured into nine Departments of Undergraduate Education, a Technical Educational University Center, and a Department of Graduate Studies. Additionally, it has ten Institutes, two Research Centers, and a School of Mountain Road Engineering.

Over time and always with the purpose of responding to social demand, different specialties were created until forming an academic offer composed of thirteen undergraduate careers, three university technician courses, twenty-one postgraduate careers, and a university diploma. Each career is oriented towards training engineers through comprehensive education that enables them to exercise their profession with moral and intellectual competence in public and private life, with the aim of providing the country with professionals sufficiently trained in areas of fundamental importance for its development.

This academic unit of the National University of San Juan has as its mission the training of professionals who master the principles of science and technology and develop their activities in the field of their competence. It is oriented towards achieving adequate scientific training, the development of research based on reflective and critical intellectual methods involving processes of analysis, reasoning, creative thinking, and self-criticism. Graduates of this Faculty can solve problems, plan and make decisions, clearly communicate their ideas, and acquire professional skills of commitment, responsibility, initiative, and participation.
