MUNICIPALIDAD DE JACHAL

San José de Jáchal is an Argentine city located in the north-central part of the province of San Juan, in the agricultural oasis of the Jáchal Valley in the northwest, on the right bank of the Jáchal River, north of the city of San Juan. It is the head city, seat of governmental authorities, and the administrative and institutional center of the Jáchal department. It is also one of the main cities in the province of San Juan, ranking 5th (in terms of population) among the most important cities. It is the nucleus of an important agricultural and mining region in northern San Juan.

Its main communication route is National Route 150, whose route would make it a component locality of the future bi-oceanic corridor, after the construction of a tunnel in the Agua Negra Pass, connecting it with the center of the country and the ports of Coquimbo in Chile and Porto Alegre in Brazil.

It is characterized by its colonial style in its buildings and urban aspect
