Through Resolution 50/24, the Secretariat of Mining and Energy of Salta has authorized the Environmental Impact Statement for the "Litio Ángeles Argentina" project, operated by PLA S.A. The province of Salta thus adds a new lithium project to the construction phase.

The authorization allows for the construction of an industrial plant that, in its first phase, will produce 10,000 tons of lithium carbonate annually, with an estimated investment of approximately 500 million dollars.

The environmental assessment process included citizen participation through public hearings and prior free and informed consultations, within the framework of ILO Convention 169, coordinated by the Secretariat of Indigenous Affairs.

The Environmental Impact Statement establishes clear responsibilities for the concessionaire company, requiring strict compliance with all technical conditions and current environmental regulations. "The company will be subject to periodic controls and audits to ensure compliance with its commitments", explained the provincial government in a press release.
